Anyone know if its normal for two of the 4 relays (in a row on the passenger side fender wall) to activate when the key is turned on, then several seconds later click twice again like two of them are turning off? I ask because today after I started this engine and let it run for about 5 minutes and shut if off, it would not start the second time a few minutes later when I tried it again, but I could hear two of the relays 'click' with the key turned on when I had someone else try to start it while I put my fingers on the relays to see if they were working. help with my 1980 honda cb 750f looses power when riding then regains quickly?
here it goes when I ride my bike after say 10 minutes or 2 weeks without any problem it suddenly looses power it doesn't shut down it just won't get up and go it only lasts a few minutes or a day and the it's fine sometimes it lurches back and forth quickly between the two. Heres what I've done so far:
Coils, plugs, wires, ignition packs checked all connections and had carbs redone twice does any one think it could be the pulse generator thats the only thing left I can think of and I've read in the shop manual its possible to clean and lubricate them but it doesn't say what lube to use. Any other ideas are welcome as long as you don't tell me to trash it
Check your engine breather pipes - If they become blocked or restricted it can cause these issues on any 4 stroke. Failing that it sounds like you have a dodgy connection to your CDI unit (I think that's what you mean by 'pulse generator' as I've never come across this term).
If there was a fuelling issue chances are it wouldn't present itself as an intermittant fault (blocked jets would cause poor performance all the time; worn slides etc would cause leaking through the overflow and balancing issues would just cause rough running).
Failing that you should do a compression test on all cylinders to make sure that the pistons/rings are all in workable condition as (without riding I don't know for sure) but if the engine is only running on a couple of cylinders this would also cause loss of performance in the manner you describe.
I know this is going to sound like a cop out but without looking at the machine a loss of power could mean any one of a hundred things.

I would like to know how the use of the 50-Ohm terminator affects a typical electrical measurement observed on the Oscilloscope. For instance, I do some experiments with measuring RMS current from an electrical system using Tektronix Current Probe and Tektronix Oscilloscope. I notice that two different waveforms can be observed with and without the use of a 50-Ohm terminator, could someone explain? Thanks in advance.
