Mustang Repair
How much does it cost to repair most average problems with a 1995 mustang for example?
If the car is ok but it jolts and then slows and is sluggish then jerks on the freeway , what do you think is wrong and how much does this kind of rpair usually run cost wise, just an opinon so I can know a few things and not walk into a mechanic with no guess at all, thanks
It seems to be transmssion related is my guess
I own a 1994 mustang, exact same car.
(except the 94's had a head gasket recall)
But im GUESSING your car is Automatic.
This is not an uncommon problem with some older auto mustangs.
Theres something in the tranny or ECU or wire or something that sometimes craps out and makes the car shift weird....
(its not that expensive i dont think)
The tranny could also be low on tranny fluid.
The spark plugs could be going shot.
The spark plug wires could be going.
The Distributor/coil could have water in it, or have a shortage or problem.
ALSO, you could have Oil getting into your Intake, caused by a bad PCV valve.( Its literally a $2 part at autozone)
(what happens is, the PCV valve jams or corrodes and motor oil gets sucked up the hose and drips and run up your Intake Hose and into the intake manifold.)
I HAD this happen to my mustang....its super easy and cheap to fix.
(although i took my intake manifold apart to clean and port them just for the hell of it!)
These cars are known for being noisy/loud and jerky sometimes.
Your problem is one of those that i listed above.
You'll need to take it to a mechanic or somebody who can test it further.
