Your taxes are pretty much the same except that as a consultant, you'll pay both halves of social security, 15.3% instead of 7.65%. To make up for that, you'd have to make about 8% more.
The other thing you have to look at is benefits - as a consultant you don't have any, so things like vacation and sick time, and any insurance, are on your nickel. That could be substantial - only you can calculate what that's worth, though.
Depending on what kind of consulting you are doing, you might have expenses that are deductible as a consultant that aren't or are limited as an employee.

Yamaha Outboard Repair Should I buy this outboard motor ?
1983 Yamaha 25hp.
When I started it last year all appeared Ok except for no tell tell stream so quickly shut down and replaced impellor along with spark plugs.
'Today it took several attempts to start and seemed a bit smokey when it did and cleared after a few seconds but straight away there was a tell tell. There was also a small amount of oil on the water surface but this didn't appear to get worse so wether this was stirred up with having a working impellor I am not sure but this is the main reason for selling as spares repair.'

Good solid motor. Do a compression check before you buy it, you dont want to get into expensive internal repairs. Compression should be above 110 psi, with both cylinders within 10%.

I have a '99 Acura Integra GS-R and am having problems with it. The car starts up intermittently, starts up more than it doesn't. When it does start up, if you push the gas pedal down too much, it bogs, and if you hold it down too far for too long it will die. When it dies, the intake will make a strange noise like its choking and trying to suck a lot of air. It idles fine, and if you push the gas pedal down slowly, RPM's will keep rising without issue. I have been working on it for a few days to see what it could be, I have new spark plugs, fuel filter, fuel pump, o2 sensor, oil filter, oil, its full with gas, its not the intake, throttle body or tbs sensor, my distributor worked fine on another integra, the timing is right, it's not the cat, the check engine light is on, engine codes read trouble codes 22 and 67, according to the service manual, it means VTEC system malfunction and catalytic sytem efficiency below threshold. Any ideas of what it may be or other things to check?

Pipettes and tips are used for accurate liquid handling in many lab applications. This area includes both pipettors, which are complete devices used to deliver a known quantity of solution to a vessel; and pipette tips, through which fluids are dispensed, which are often sold separately from the pipette or pipettor. Pipettes and tips are either of the classical style (glass) or digital.
There are three main types of pipettes and tips: positive displacement, air displacement, and Pasteur styles. Pasteur pipettes are small glass tubes with a bulb at the end used for dispensing small amounts of fluids. Positive displacement pipettes are used for high viscosity and volatile liquids. Both types of pipettes have a piston that moves in a cylinder, or capillary. In air displacement pipetting, a specified volume of air remains between the piston and the liquid. Selecting air displacement pipettes and tips require special consideration. Air displacement pipetting, which is used for standard pipetting applications, is highly accurate. Typically, air displacement pipettes are meant for general use with aqueous solutions.
Positive displacement pipettes and tips are used in applications that require extreme accuracy. These pipettes and tips are also recommended for specialized procedures such as DNA amplification. The microsyringe tips used in positive displacement pipettes are disposable, which helps avoid sample-to-sample and cross-contamination, and contamination due to the aerosol effect. Under average conditions, most pipettes can be calibrated semi-annually (every six months) and provide satisfactory performance. Institutions that are regulated by the Food and Drug Administration's GMP/GLP regulations generally benefit from quarterly calibration, or every three months. Critical applications may require monthly service, while research and educational institutions may need only annual service. These are general guidelines and any decision on the appropriate calibration interval should be made carefully and include considerations of the pipette in question (some are more reliable than others), the conditions under which the pipette is used, and the operators who use it.

When it comes to air travel, many travelers are more concerned with their carryon luggage than they are with their bags that will be handed over to airport staff. These bags, commonly referred to as checked baggage, are just as important, if not more important, than your carryon luggage. For this reason, there are a number of different factors that you should take into consideration, when packing your bags for your next flight.
One mistake that many travelers make, when it comes to checked baggage, is including prohibited items in their bag. In addition to prohibited items, there have also been instances of travelers trying to hide illegal items in their checked luggage. Although it may seem like a good idea at the time, it isn't. In fact, with today's airport security screening, it is virtually impossible for you to get away with storing prohibited or illegal items inside your checked baggage more information http://www.review9.info . Caravan warning light?
Recently bought a '02 Dodge Caravan, 95,000 miles with 3.3 engine. On the top of the dash above the instrument panel, there's a long, narrow warning light display. On the right side is an icon of an engine that came on the other day and has stayed on. The dealer gassed up the vehicle and it now has a little over a half tank of fuel.
What is this light telling me?
I don't yet have a shop manual that recent and the owners manual is quite vauge. The manual says that if it stays on after a couple of start up cycles, have a shop check it. It also says that with the light on, driving and performance will likely be unaffected. I do my own work and know a thing or two about mechanics. Will the Chrysler "turn the key 3 times" bit bring up the diagnostic code for this indicator?

the engine light could be one of a few hundred things. you need to have it scanned and go from there. you should take it back to the dealer you bought it from. they should probably take care of it for you if you just bought it.
