Volkswagen Golf Owners Defrost? on a Volkswagen Golf 2000?
There's a knob on the driver's side door on my car, that loos like a defrost, and has R and L (I'm assuming right and left) on it. I don't have my car's owner's manual though, so I'm not quite sure what it does. Is it a defrost for my side-mirrors? And if so, how do I work the thing? lol

oh, and if the R and L is mirror adjustments, how do I adjust them? 'Cause I have't been able to figure that out either!! (wow I'm sounding kinda' stupid on this, but... oh well. I'm frustrated) lol

Chilton Vw Bug 74VW bug ignition switch How do you take it out?
Something is obstructing the slot so I cant get the key in. I dont t hink its a foreign object. Cant remove switch following Chilton, can I drill the cylinder out? or will that just f it up all the more. I cant access an opening Chilton says I should be able to put a wire in unless I partially pull the switich out of the housing. Can't pull the switch out at all. Any ideas VW fans??
What cold it be that slipped over and keeps me from sticking a key in? Looks like a newer switch and key is still shiney. Thanks

Of course I know who Alex Chilton is. He was the lead singer of the Box Tops who had one of the shortest number one records in Billboard history---The Letter. My favorite song by the Box Tops was Cry like a Baby. And yes I am aware that Alex also had another band, but the name escapes me right now, and because I live in Canada they didn't receive much airplay here--too bad. Alex had a great voice, and it is very sad that he passed.

I just bought a '96 Probe GT - v-6 - 24 Valve -- Should I use 93 octane if that's what's been used for 5 yrs.
Also, it runs decently but it seems like it lacks some power, is there anything easy I could do to increase(or restore) some of the power; engine restorer, fuel injector cleaner, etc...
It was in a major accident 5 years ago and then sold, the owner before me has taken great care of it for the past 5 years and am just wondering of any basic stuff I could do to maintain(or improve) it like the previous owner did.
I do have the Chilton's manual and can do some basic stuff. Thank you.
Wow, you must be rich to be able to afford 93 octane gas!!
It would only be mandatory to use 93 octane gas if the car was desinged to run on it. Say like a supercharged engine would be designed to run on 93 to help prevent detonation.
I don't believe you are going to see that much difference in the performance unless there are other mod's to the car that would require it, especially mod's to the ignition system, or the computer control chip. Run the lower octane gas and if you run into poor performance because of it, then switch back. Or, if you experience an increase in detonation, stay with the super. I still can't believe with the price of gas you actually WANT to use premium. Gas here hit 3.25 today for regular. Seems like I would be trying to find something that will run on water.
